Richard Lyons

Richard holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from the University of Melbourne, as well as a Juris Doctor and a Masters of Law from the University of Sydney. Richard is admitted to practise law in South Australia, New South Wales and in the Federal courts.

Richard joined WRP Legal in January 2025 after moving with his growing family from Sydney to Adelaide.

Through extensive experience in national and international top-tier firms, Richard has developed a strong specialisation in taxation law, with a focus on tax structuring issues and tax disputes. In particular, Richard has worked on a range of sensitive and complex reviews and dispute processes with large enterprises seeking to navigate engagement with the ATO. Given his varied experience, Richard has developed expertise in both domestic and international tax issues which arise in tax structuring and dispute issues.

Richard prioritises providing both commercial and practical advice to clients, combined with getting the law right and ensuring clients can understand the implications of any tax advice for their day-to-day operations.
